Photo-A-Day: Something You Do Most Weekends

I realized a few months ago that the only reading I was doing was a few pages before bed, and I missed it. So now I schedule myself an hour one morning every weekend to sit and read and drink coffee (occasionally I treat myself to hot chocolate!). Right now I’m working my way through Neil Gaiman’s Absolute Sandman, which are just as amazing as their reputation suggests.

My beautiful bright girl with her beautiful bright future ahead of her, starting the first grade. She approached the day with astonishing confidence and poise and I am so proud of her.

I can hardly believe I helped make this smart, funny, kind, beautiful person. (And I hope she always has room in her heart for both princesses and dark lords!)

Almost forgot to post this one! When I looked down today, this is what I saw:

Cute, right? My black sandals just wore out so I popped by DSW and grabbed this cute pair of Borns on clearance. Can’t beat that! To celebrate snagging shoes that are cute, comfy, and well-made, I did a little nail art on my toesies (flowers, to go with the sandals, natch).

I’m back, baby! I finally have a working phone, so I’m back on the photo-a-day wagon. Today’s word was clock, and this is the clock in my Canyonero, telling me it’s time to go home already!

Because I just happened to have my Darth Vader ring sitting on my desk, naturally. Yes, the same desk from yesterday with all the yarn on it. Also, I did think about doing something a little less obvious, like a coffee ring or a crochet magic ring, but c’mon. Darth Vader ring clearly trumps those.

I have no idea how many actual projects are in that pile, but I’m going to say no fewer than 5. The rest are swatches I’ve done in the name of figuring stuff out so I can explain it to other people better.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? I love my job.

Photo-A-Day: Glasses

So there’s this blogger, Fat Mum Slim, and she puts up these monthly lists of things to take pictures of. I actually came across this a couple of months ago and wanted to participate, but then my lens on my phone was all wonky and got a huge scratch on it, and let’s face it: you all know me well enough by now to know if I’m having to take pics with my real camera and upload them there’s just no way that’s going to be even a semi-daily thing (though oddly, I actually have a backlog of pics waiting for posts right now). But it turns out that I’m just an idiot, and never removed the plastic from the camera lens when I got my replacement phone a couple months ago. So that’s what was making everything all foggy, and also what had the big scratch in it. Duh, and also yipee!

So here’s my first “daily” (we’ll see how that goes) photo:
